Chapel Hill Academy’s Extended School Year (ESY) program provides for a full 30 days of additional instruction beyond the regular academic year, during the summer months.
Chapel Hill Academy is proud to offer our students an opportunity to participate in the Extended School Year Program. Eligibility is IEP driven and based on preventing the regression of academic, behavioral, emotional or social skills.

Every summer there is a school-wide theme that ties together the academic, social, and emotional components of each ESY. The theme for summer 2023 will be Theme-a-Palooza: A Summer of Educational Experience. The focus will be on exploring many different themes and topics ranging from states of the US and history of NJ, to Wonders of the World and National Parks.
Our goal is to vary the themes so that each week of ESY will have lessons, projects, and experiences that will expose our students to a vast array of the world around them and the history of how it came to be. Through this approach, we hope to capture the interest and curiosity that comes naturally to children and allows us to maximize on teachable moments with students who benefit the most of hands-on experiential learning opportunities, all in a safe and structured learning environment. In addition, each class will visit a nearby lake for swimming, walk for ice cream, and enjoy some lunches outside in our field.
