This fall, middle school students took a hike at the Pyramid Mountain Natural Historic Area in Montvale. After scrambling up rocky paths, they reached the summit: Tripod Rock- a 3.4-mile hike that reached an elevation of 934 feet, with eagle eye views of the New York City skyline.
The hike was exhilarating, and students had an opportunity to learn about the history and wildlife of the area, including the Lenape Indians and early European settlers, habitats, and how the Wisconsin Glacier shaped the land.
